The GroundGrabba tent peg ground stake range is designed for use in different types of terrain. Experienced campers like to upgrade their standard tent peg stakes that come with their tents to GroundGrabba stakes because they trust our products to keep their camp from blowing away. Old tent pegs are required to be inserted on an angle, away from the tent, to maximise their holding ability. Our new screw-in ground anchor stakes can be inserted into the ground straight, or on an angle – the choice is yours. All new tents come with standard tent pegs, but if you’re a seasoned camper, you’ll know how important it is to make sure your tent won’t blow away by using really good quality ground anchors that will actually hold their ground. Experienced campers and serious adventurers know that you need different tent pegs for different ground types, so it’s best to carry a range of tent stakes to ensure you can set up camp wherever you are. .

We believe our tent pegs are the best, that’s why the steel range come with a lifetime replacement warranty. You can order your GroundGrabba Pro and Pro II’s with peace of mind knowing that if it breaks, we’ll replace it. All our ground anchors feature a 19mm hexagonal head so they can be driven into the ground with a drill, or manually with a socket wrench.
How it works
The Australian made GroundGrabba Lite is a plastic tent peg reinforced with glass. It’s designed for recreational campers and ideal for use in common sand and soft grass – like you’d find at most camping grounds. They’re 400mm long, with large 48mm flights (spirals) that tear into soft ground for the best tent and tarp holding capability. They have a moulded feature to attach a rope. Our steel range, Pro and Pro II, feature externally welded flights for extreme strength and are made from heat-treated galvanised steel with a shaft thickness of 10mm. The Pro is 300mm long and Pro II is 600mm long.
Heavy-Duty Tent Pegs
Screw-in tent peg stakes are great for use in hard ground because they are super strong and heavy-duty. To compare to standard tent pegs which are easy to pull out of the ground (most of the time), GroundGrabba’s aren’t easy to pull out – well, they are if you screw them out with a drill or by hand. Screw-in pegs create extra grip in the ground because the flights (spirals on the outside) ‘grab’ onto the ground as it’s drilled-in. They’re excellent when setting up in windy conditions or you’re staying for an extended period of time and you don’t know what the weather will be like.
Pitching your tent
We created the GroundGrabba tent peg ground anchor series so we could pitch our tent wherever we ended up on our adventure. Our steel range features superior ground holding capability – super strong on hard ground and grass - heat-treated carbon steel with externally welded flights to create extreme durability. They’re safe to use and reduce the risk of injuries and tripping over which makes them perfect for families and busy camping spots. There’s no sharp edges and our bright orange GroundGrabba Lite’s are easy to see. Don’t be disappointed when your tent or tarp blows away because your traditional tent pegs haven’t done their job. Invest in a set of GroundGrabba Lite, Pro and Pro II and know that your campsite will be secure and you’ll have a great time camping!
Upgrade your camping gear
It’s always a good idea to carry extra tent pegs – you don’t want to be left with a broken tent peg and have to pack up early and go home. We recommend testing the ground with a tent peg to ensure you’re using the right peg for the ground. Upgrade you camping gear with high quality tent peg stakes from GroundGrabba and you’ll have the right peg for the right ground, always.
Range of Stakes
The Groundgrabba range consists of stake designs for different weather and terrain. Several campers usually upgrade the standard stakes that come with new tents. With the old type of stakes, It is advisable to angle ground anchors away from the tent in order to maximise their ability to handle the tension but with our new screw-in tent stakes this is optional.
Although many new tents are provided with standard pegs that are ideal for camping in fair weather, seasoned campers know how important it is to avoid depending on these alone. Most campers are familiar with the benefits of storing various stakes for a variety of situations to safeguard their camping experience and tents.
Exceptional Grip
Groundgrabba range is well known for offering an impressive variety that can accommodate different soil conditions. The ground grabbing ability and strength of the lengthy steel version is exemplary, holding upwards of 1500lb*.
The company is dedicated to developing unique products and ensuring that they perform optimally. Our steel products come with a Lifetime Replacement Warranty to ensure long-term use. Different types of ground anchors incorporate various sizes of steel pegs along with a glass reinforced nylon stake. These all use hexagon heads that are driven by sockets measuring ¾”.
Mechanism
The GroundGrabba Lite unit that is reinforced with glass is 15 ¾” long and classified as a recreational peg according to the grades of tent anchors. This is ideal for use in sand dunes, beaches, soft sandy grass and consists of large flutes (flights, wings or spirals) that run along the shaft with an open and molded hook for the rope. Both steel units have large flutes (flights, wings or spirals) on the bottom part of the shaft with measurements of 12” and 24”.
Heavy Duty
Screw-in tent stakes are suitable for hard ground as they are robust and solid. In comparison to standard pegs, these are put in and pulled out easily without bending. The screw-in pegs provide extra grip and can be used with cordless drills to ease use, which is great in situations where you are setting up under high wind conditions or for longer periods.
Effective Pitching
Features include superior ground holding, amazing on hard ground and grass, heat treated carbon steel spikes and environmentally friendly design. Other considerations in mind are safe with little risk of injuries and stumbling, ideal for families, no dangerous sharp edges sticking out of the ground for the material of the tent and high performance.
We cannot overemphasise how important it is for our customers to invest in correct or higher quality pegs for the ground when setting up a tent shelter. When you experience any extreme weather conditions, picking the right stake ground anchors can play a significant role in making sure that the performance of your tent meets your expectations.
