Wind Turbines (temporary installations)

Temporary wind turbines often lack deep footings, making secure anchoring essential. GroundGrabba’s heavy-duty screw-in anchors provide strong, reusable hold across diverse soils — ideal for off-grid, backup, or short-term wind energy setups. With fast drill-in installation and structural bracket options, your turbine stays upright in any conditions.

Pro II Packs

Our longest GR13 anchor, the GroundGrabba Pro II (615mm x 10mm shaft), offers excellent grip in soft to medium soils. Designed for fast, drill-driven installation, it’s ideal for stabilising guy wires or tripod mounts for temporary wind turbines and other vertical structures exposed to the elements.

Commercial Pro I Packs

Built for commercial-grade stability, the Commercial Pro I (600mm x 15mm shaft) offers deeper ground engagement and higher load capacity than standard anchors. Perfect for medium-scale wind turbine setups where stronger uplift resistance and soil penetration are required.

Commercial Pro II Packs

For maximum holding power in semi-permanent or high-risk installations, the 900mm-long Commercial Pro II is the ultimate GroundGrabba anchor. Its aggressive thread profile and thick 15mm shaft resist lateral and uplift forces, making it ideal for large-scale or exposed wind turbine installations.

Multi L Bracket

This rugged, galvanised steel bracket is designed to fit snugly over GR13 and GR14 GroundGrabba shafts, allowing secure attachment of poles, posts, or crossbeams. Its slotted and pre-drilled design makes it highly adaptable for mounting turbine towers, tripods, or structural base frames.

From the founder:

Hi, I’m David Levine, inventor of GroundGrabba. In 2017, Susu and I set out to create purpose-built ground anchors. Today, our range secures everything from tents to tiny homes. We back our steel anchors with a Lifetime Replacement Warranty* and a 100% RISK-FREE 12-month return policy. Whatever you need to anchor, we’ll keep you grounded.

Closed Hook 14 Commercial

Made for GR14 anchors, the ClosedHook 14 provides a galvanised steel attachment point with a large tear-drop hole to accommodate 15mm shafts. Excellent for securing tie-down cables or bracket arms to wind turbine base plates, it helps distribute tension evenly and withstand dynamic loading.

Reliable Ground Anchoring for Temporary Wind Turbine Installations

Temporary wind turbines, whether for mobile operations, remote area power, research deployments, or festival grids, demand a solid foundation — especially in the very conditions they’re meant to harness. With high wind exposure, variable terrain, and limited setup time, anchoring your turbine securely is crucial to both performance and safety.

GroundGrabba’s heavy-duty anchoring systems offer a fast, effective, and fully reusable solution to this challenge. Our drill-in earth anchors can be deployed in soft, firm, or compacted soils without concrete or permanent footings. This makes them ideal for rapid-response energy installations and portable turbine systems.

For medium-scale turbines or installations in mixed soil conditions, the GroundGrabba Pro II provides reliable grip with a 615mm shaft and aggressive thread design. It’s well-suited for setups in paddocks, fields, or open areas where moderate loads and shorter install times are key.

For larger, heavier turbines or high-wind zones, we recommend the Commercial Pro I (600mm x 15mm shaft) or Commercial Pro II (900mm x 15mm shaft). With a thicker 15mm shaft and deeper penetration, these anchors offer superior lateral resistance and uplift control — critical for maintaining stability under torque and vibration. Compared to our non-commercial 10mm anchors, the GR14 Commercial series excels in demanding environmental conditions.

The Multi L Bracket adds flexible mounting options. Whether you're tying down a tripod mast or bolting to a structural frame, this bracket enables firm attachment points that adapt to your turbine base.

Where additional safety is needed, ClosedHook 14s provide a high-strength connection interface between anchor and rigging. Their enlarged tear-drop hole accommodates the 15mm shaft of our GR14 commercial anchors, ensuring a stable and compatible join — especially in vibration-prone or high-stress environments.

Installation is simple: using a cordless impact wrench, you can screw the anchors into position in minutes. No excavation. No concrete curing. No wasted time. When it’s time to decommission or relocate, simply reverse out and reuse the same anchors for your next deployment.

From temporary microgrids to off-grid events or emergency wind energy setups, GroundGrabba provides a secure foundation that matches the flexibility and speed of modern wind technology. Designed and tested in Australia’s harsh outdoor environments, our products are built to last — and to hold fast, when it matters most.
