Aviation Ground Anchoring

GroundGrabba offers purpose-built anchoring solutions for aviation ground anchoring, engineered to work across a range of challenging soil types while delivering reliable hold and easy, drill-powered installation.

Pro I Packs

The GroundGrabba Pro I suits aviation ground anchoring in firm or compacted terrain, offering excellent grip without the need for deep penetration.

Closed Hooks

The ClosedHook enables pilots to securely connect ratchet straps, tie-down ropes, or chains from their aircraft to the GroundGrabba anchor. Its enclosed loop design ensures a stable, slip-resistant connection point that holds strong under crosswinds, turbulence, or heavy gusts.

Aircraft Tie-Down Anchoring That Holds Firm, Wherever You Land

Whether you’re landing on a remote dirt strip, regional tarmac, or grassy paddock, one thing’s for certain — your aircraft needs to stay put. Gusty crosswinds, storm fronts, and even passing aircraft can shift or lift an unsecured plane. That’s why reliable ground anchoring is critical for aviation safety when parking outside hangars or during overnight stops.

GroundGrabba screw-in anchors give private pilots, flying clubs, and outback operators a reusable, high-strength solution to secure aircraft in all types of ground. Whether you're flying a light sport aircraft, ultralight, gyrocopter, or bush plane, our drill-driven anchors provide the peace of mind that your aircraft will stay grounded when it matters most.

Why Pilots Trust GroundGrabba for Aircraft Tie-Down

Traditional hammer-in pegs and static tie-downs can slip or loosen with changing wind or ground conditions. GroundGrabba anchors go deeper and grip stronger thanks to their aggressive flighted threads, which bite into the ground and resist vertical lift and lateral pull — the kind of forces your aircraft is exposed to in unpredictable conditions.

Our anchors are designed to work with ratchet straps, ropes, or turnbuckles — all of which can be secured to our ClosedHook interface for a secure, closed-loop connection that won’t shake loose.

✈️ GroundGrabba Pro II Pack – Soft to Medium Ground Performance

Landing in sandy or loose soil conditions? The GroundGrabba Pro II is built to dig in and hold firm. Its extended shaft and aggressive thread profile provide powerful anchoring in softer terrains — perfect for dry lake beds, beach runways, or topsoil airstrips.

Use a cordless drill with a 16mm socket to drive it in quickly. Attach tie-down ropes or ratchet straps to the ClosedHook for a quick, reliable lock-down of your aircraft’s wing or landing gear tie points.

✈️ Commercial Pro I Pack – Ideal for Hard Soil or Gravel

For hard-packed ground, dry clay, or gravel strips, the Commercial Pro I is your go-to. Its shorter profile and thicker steel shaft make it ideal for conditions where deep penetration isn’t possible but high tension is needed.

This anchor uses a 1" AF hex head and is best installed with a high-torque impact wrench. Pair it with your own aviation-rated tie-down gear, or use our compatible ClosedHooks for secure point-to-point anchoring.

✈️ Commercial Pro II Pack – Maximum Holding Power

For the ultimate in ground grip — particularly in soft, sandy or unpredictable terrain — step up to the Commercial Pro II. Longer and more aggressively flighted, it’s built to hold even under high wind gusts or during extreme weather conditions.

Aircraft operators in coastal, desert, or alpine environments often choose this option when they can’t risk movement, drift, or tip. It’s drill-driven, reusable, and compatible with all major tie-down setups.

Secure Tie Points with ClosedHook

Each GroundGrabba system works in conjunction with our ClosedHook fittings — a closed-loop attachment that accepts:

  • Ratchet straps
  • Tie-down ropes
  • Turnbuckles or aircraft chain

The ClosedHook makes connection simple and secure, preventing hook slip-off or loosening caused by vibration or load changes.

Fast Setup. Rock-Solid Results.

GroundGrabba anchors can be installed in seconds with your own cordless drill or impact wrench. Simply align the anchor near your wing or tail, drill it in, attach your strap, and you’re done.

Removal is just as easy — reverse out the anchor, clean it, and stow it back in your aircraft’s storage. No hammering, no bent pegs, and no worn-out stake bags.
