Additional Information

Always wear safety clothing, footwear, gloves and glasses for this process.

NOTE: Because the shaft of the GroundGrabba Wood Splitter is welded, the shaft and splitter head will not unwind from itself and seperate. But do be careful as the drill spins reverse as the timber may want to spin also.

Set Up

Put your tomahawk away and instead put the spiral wood splitter into your drill.

Make sure the timber you are about to split is held in place by whatever safe means you can.

Start close to the edge of timber and put some down weight onto your drill so the spiral bites.  As it bites, it winds itself down splitting the wood in the process.  You'll need to follow the split until the whole section has separated. Then tear off that piece and do it all over again

If your wood splitter gets wedged and it is not splitting the timber simple reverse the drill so the splitter can wind out.

How They Work

As you press down onto the timber, the wedge shaped spirals bit into the grain of the timber and starts to split the grain apart. ALWAYS have the timber secured so it wont move during this process.

As the timber splits in the one spot adequately, reverse the drill and start a few cm away from the first split and continue to follow the split until until you can seperate the kindling.

Take your cordless drill and cordless kit away camping with you.

So now your cordless kit can perform another labour saving function... Wood Splitting.  Create kindling in moments without the danger of axe incidents. Perhaps you may now no longer need to take an axe or tomahawk with you?

SPECIAL: What makes the GroundGrabba Wood Splitter special is that it is one piece. Other brands tend to be two pieces which means the shaft will seperate from the splitter head if you reverse your drill direction.

At times you may bite off more than you can chew and the head will jam in the wood. To unjam it, simply reverse and withdraw....and your wood splitter will not come apart leaving the head jammed tight in the timber like other brands.
