Grabbing Power

Hold Down Capacity

In our tests, we have found that if we compare same length spike stake to a GR14 of the same length and girth, then the difference ranges from around X3 to X7 in holding power!

See the complete test chart here

GroundGrabba Commercial L (GR14UL). These are vertical load tests

Still not sure which GroundGrabba to use? Contact us 1300988655 or use this form.

IMPORTANT***Please note that these figures are a guide only.  The results are vertical lift absolute momentary peak readings and you should allow a decent safety margin.   Ground types vary. Through the depth of one ground anchor the ground can be of different densities therefore different anchoring characteristics.    These all rely on correct deployment.

How They Work

How They Work

This currently is our top of the range Commercial product.  Our Industrial commercial earth ground anchor earth range GR14 works by penetrating the ground and forming an inverted conical kind of shape of earth holding grip in the ground.

If exposed to extreme lifting forces, unlike ground anchors that are threaded along the complete length of the shaft that catastrophic fail, our augur designed earth anchors will lift in a controlled failure way, usually giving advanced notice before failing as the augur section still needs to haul its way through the earth that is compacted on top.

Essentially compared to our general GR13 range, the shafts are thicker, the hex heads are larger and lengths are 450mm, 600mm and 900mm.

For driving these into the ground, we recommend a high-torque impact wrench. Consider models like:

  • Makita 40v TW001GZ-40v Brushless 3/4" Impact Wrench.
  • Milwaukee M18 FUEL 2867-20
  • Use a masonry drill at least the same length as the GR14 you choose for pilot holes in harder ground.

        Cyclone proofed tiny house

A few months ago I moved into a new tiny house on wheels (8.4m), with a deck on a trailer also (9m), and a solar system also on a trailer (6.3m). I live in SE QLD, and a cyclone was the furthest thing from my mind at the time. Then Alfred hit. My biggest learning from that experience is that I needed some serious ground anchors and tie downs in place. After extensive research, I came to the conclusion GroundGrabba products was exactly what I was after - serious anchorage, something I could install myself, and removable and reusable (ie relocatable). Nothing else seemed to come close.

David could not have been more helpful, with multiple phone calls and emails while I shared photos and details of what I needed. He guided me as to the most appropriate products, and provided so many helpful tips and support. As someone new to this, that was as valuable as the ground anchors themselves. Now they're all in place, under tension with tie downs, I am absolutely sure I have the best products for the job.

With the tool recommended on the product page, the anchors went in easily. They are so solid and well designed. It's also not difficult to remove them, so I'm very comfortable that when the time comes, I'll be able to relocate them without any hassles. Can't recommend these ground anchors highly enough for any large items that need to be secured.

        Dongas Survived Cyclone Alfred

I recently purchased GroundGrabba Commercial 900mm Pro II’s to hold down a number of our site sheds.

I had numerous site sheds to secure ranging from 3x5m to 6 x 12m. We just experienced cyclone Alfred and am super pleased to say our sheds didn’t budge. I also like the fact these are reusable.

Next time we need to set up and anchor down site sheds we’ll use GroundGrabba again.

        Highly recommend!
